It's finally over...or is it?

Hooray! I fianlly finished (in the nick of time too). Overall I think the program has been a worthwhile experience. I thought that I was fairly knowledgable about web 2.0, but I found out about heaps of things which I never knew existed. Highlights were Zoho Writer, Comix and maintaining this blog. I may continue with the blog (or start another). It's not to hard and I think I could come up with plenty to write about.

That's all from me for now (officially). Thanks for reading!

Downloadble Audio Books

I checked out the children's e-books at World E-book fair, unfortunately these weren't free... The selection seemed to be quite good. The free downloads links didn't work for me unfortunately (will give it a go when I get to work today in case it's just my PC. I also had a look at The Tale of Benjamin Bunny at Project Guttenberg (nothing to do with Police Academy). Downloadable audio books seem like the way to go in future - it avoids the problem of damaged CDs.

Podcast-o-rama

The library blog which I chose was Library Survival Guide. It seemed to be the best one available (I could have listened to heaps of them to choose somnething brilliant, but didn't have the time).

Another podcast which I'd recommend, but which isn't library related (and no longer has a feed) is this one. It's a few years old now, but loads of fun. It's a radio program Ross Noble did on Triple J.

Meal...or No Meal

I checked out Youtube, which is a great site. I think most people have used Youtube at least once before because of the wealth of material available. I saw this on Sesame St a few weeks ago and thought that it was great. Shame it's not based off the Aussie version. Enjoy.

Third place is not a bad result.

Comiqs received third place in the "Fun Stuff" category of the Web 2.0 Awards. It allows you to create comics online. I'm interested in comics so the site instantly appealed to me. Unfortunately, the comic which I created is a little uninspired...Also I had trouble uploading it straight to the blog, so I have a screengrab there until I can get that working. As far as using this in a library setting - perhaps for spongeclub or for teens.

Post from Zoho. About a Fox.

I thought I'd write more about that quick brown fox that jumped over the lazy dog. He's quick, but smelly. That fox really needs a bath because the dog wasn't happy about being jumped over and has quite a good sense of smell. Not a good idea to jump a hound. Fox hunting should be outlawed, but unfortunately for the brown fox, the dog is going on a hunt next week and will be looking to get his revenge.

It's Just Like MS Office - only slightly less evil.

Zoho Writer was great to use. It would be good to recommmend to customers while we are waiting for MS Office to be loaded on to the internet PCs. I've discovered the "post to blog" function, so my next post will (hopefully) be straight from Zoho. Here goes...
